Education should take care of the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of children. Developing personality and forming character should be an integral part of education. It should help the child to have desirable knowledge, skills, interest attitudes and values. At the end of their educational tenure children should emerge with high self-esteem, self-respect and self-confidence.
In the words of Dr Radhakrishna “The teachers’ place in a society is of vital importance. He acts as the pivot for the transmission of intellectual traditions and technical skills from generation to generation and helps to keep the lamp of civilization burning”
There has been increased attention to teacher training for effective education. Teachers being trained in the various aspects of their career is of utmost importance. They need effective skills and tools for incorporating the latest teaching technologies, classroom management, and preparation of resource material for classroom application. A teacher’s role has changed as education goes beyond the examination grade, combining academics, co-curricular activities, sports, life skills and holistic development of the child.
Teachers who are warm, calm, patient and have a positive attitude are interested in the physical mental and emotional, welfare of the children, do valuable service to education and are assets to the society.
NPS has been imparting holistic quality education to children across the last five decades. As part of enhancing the performance of teachers, we have been training teachers to meet the challenges of their responsibilities. We have a training centre and we are extending this service to those who wish to avail this facility. I wish the training centre and the members of staff lasting success.
