Teaching And Learning

At TTA we provide teaching and learning programmes that teachers from the NPS group of schools participate in to upgrade their professional knowledge, skills, and competence to competently meet the demands and challenges of today’s classroom. Series of full day workshop sessions are arranged to run during the course of the year. We also conduct stand-alone bite-sized sessions during which a range of topics that are relevant for teaching Early years, Primary, and Secondary schools are dealt with.

A range of modules are covered that focus on a solid foundation of theoretical knowledge and effective teaching skills within the classroom. The major modules cover aspects of, best practices in ‘Teaching and Learning,’ ‘Classroom Management,’ ‘Assessment’, ‘Emotional Intelligence’, ‘Inquiry Based Learning’, ‘ICT’ and ‘Inclusive Practices’ for the contemporary world and 21st century competencies

The ‘Writing Process’ and ‘Enquiry Based Learning’ programmes were pioneering initiatives introduced into schools and with systematic training of teachers and review, these pedagogical methods have become an integral part of the curriculum.

Action research in the area of curriculum content, delivery, and instructional practices to improve student learning are adopted by our trainers and teachers. The data generated from these research from NPS classrooms, enable TTA to tailor training programmes to plug in the challenges faced by teachers and leaders.

With the launch of the E-book in Environmental Studies in NPS schools, digital education is generating new learning opportunities and therefore we are at the onset of launching the E-Learning teacher training programme. This platform will render the opportunity for teachers to deepen their knowledge and increase their skills within the comforts of their home as it is flexible and self-paced.

These learning opportunities encourage peer-to peer learning, and encourages teachers to continuously share best practices. Reflective practice is enriched by critical engagement with new ideas and approaches to impact student learning and growth.
