With constant and fast paced changes, the world we live in is becoming increasingly diverse, globalized, and complex. We have no idea of what the world will look like in five years, much less 60 years, yet we are charged with preparing our students for life in that world. They are facing many emerging issues which need them to be able to communicate, function and create change personally, socially, economically and politically.

There is therefore a real need for global educators, who will prepare the future generation to face this world. Across the world there is a quest to produce the best quality education systems which will need the highest quality educators. These teachers will need to be equipped in order to enable our young people to participate in shaping a better, shared future for the world.

While education has conventionally been meant to increase the students' understanding of concepts and theories, it has now become more significant to lay emphasis on grooming their analytical and application skills. Students must now not only study and understand concepts, but must go a step further and learn to analyze and apply them to practical situations. With this shifting change, it has become important to offer teachers with the necessary training to become more effective in imparting knowledge. With the growing importance of specialization across the world, the need for better-trained teachers is now being also felt beyond both national and cultural boundaries, making the well-trained teacher an invaluable product in a highly competitive world.
